Together with Gift Shop , Post Office , Chemist  and Butchers all within close proximity.

There is also the Neil Cole's Adventures in Science Fiction: Museum of Sci-fi visitor attraction just off the Market Place.

There are 3 pubs which serve food to eat in or take away, these are The Golden Lion, The kings Head . The Elks Head

If you would prefer a traditional cafe there are two in the village open through the day.

Further afield there is the Spice Mill Tandoori.

We also have a local vet and there is a doctor's surgery in the village.

Allendale is a vibrant village with many events being hosted in the Market Place throughout the year, the most notable is the New Year celebration's know as " the tar barrell's" where as it's name suggest's tar barrels are lit and carried around the village to see in the new year.  This event has attracted many visitors over the years and is a fantastic visual spectacle.

The village also hosts the Allendale Challenge, Allendale Folk festival the May fair and agricultural show to name but a few.
